Discovering a Reflected XSS Vulnerability: My Journey into Microsoft’s Xbox.com
The Beginning
One quiet afternoon, driven by curiosity and a passion for cybersecurity, I decided to explore the main domain of Xbox: https://www.xbox.com/
. Little did I know, this exploration would lead to the discovery of a significant security vulnerability that could potentially impact numerous users.
The Exploration
Navigating to Xbox.com, I began my journey by using the search functionality on the website. Here’s a detailed account of my discovery process:

Testing the Search Field:
Visit the link: https://www.xbox.com/en-us/search?q=
Injecting the Payload:
Using my #xss0r Tool, I tested the search field with various inputs. Out of 2500 payloads, the tool identified one working payload: //j\javascript:alert(document.domain)
. This payload was not injected manually by me but was discovered by the #xss0r Tool.
Observing the Result:
The payload was executed, confirming the presence of a reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. This discovery highlights the efficiency of the #xss0r Tool. Manually testing 2500 payloads would be impractical and extremely time-consuming, but with my tool, I found the vulnerability in just under half a minute. This proves the tool’s capability to uncover vulnerabilities quickly and accurately, which would otherwise be missed or take an enormous amount of time to discover manually.

I discovered a reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability on the main domain of Xbox (xbox.com
